Home Education Day
Thursday 24 September | 10am–2pm
Join us for a special Home Education Day at Mill Green Museum & Watermill, designed for home-educating families with children aged 4–11.
Your booking includes two pre-booked activities: a breadmaking session and a guided mill tour, with both activities taking place at set times within your chosen booking slot. Your booked time is the start time of your first activity. When you arrive, we will let you know whether you will do breadmaking or the mill tour first.
Booked activity times
- 10am booking: 10am–10.30am and 10.40am–11.10am
- 11.20am booking: 11.20am–11.50am and 12pm–12.30pm
- 1pm booking: 1pm–1.30pm and 1.40pm–2.10pm
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your booked time to check in and collect your wristbands.
Explore throughout the day
Drop-in activities and museum trails are available from 10am–2pm. Families are welcome to explore the museum and grounds and take part in these activities before or after their two booked sessions.
You're also welcome to bring your own picnic to enjoy in our grounds. We have picnic tables under the cover of gazebos.
Tickets
- £11 per participating child
- One accompanying adult is free per family group
- Additional adults: £6.25 each
Every child taking part in an activity, including siblings and children under 2, needs a paid child ticket.
Babies in arms and non-mobile children under 2 can attend free of charge if they are not taking part in the activity programme. Non-participating children must remain with their accompanying adult and may not be able to join staff-led activities.
Spaces are very limited, particularly in the kitchen during breadmaking and inside the mill during tours, so we ask families to bring one accompanying adult wherever possible. Pushchairs may not be able to be accommodated in these areas.
Please note
The event is subject to a minimum number of bookings. If there are not enough bookings for the event to go ahead, all bookings will be cancelled and full refunds will be given.
