Welwyn Hatfield Museum Service was formed in the 1970s to collect and share the history of Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield and the surrounding area. The service looks after 2 historic sites: Mill Green Museum & Watermill and Welwyn Roman Baths. Mill Green is home to a historic working watermill that still produces flour. It also houses our collection and a small museum dedicated to sharing stories from our region. Our second site, Welwyn Roman Baths, is the remains of a 3rd Century Roman Bath house situated in a vault under the A1M on the Welwyn Bypass.
Visit our sites to learn about residents of the region past and present.
