Gelli Printing Workshop with Hazel
Gelli Printing
Learn about printing with gelli plates - an easy printmaking process! Join us for a fun session where you'll learn the basics of this lovely printing method. Suitable for beginners, those who have dabbled or if you want to brush up on your skills. You'll be guided step by step to make your own unique prints. Gelli printing produces lovely, often surprising results. You will discover how to create fabulous textures and patterns without the need for a printing press and experiment using found objects for unique mark making. We will experiment with layering, masking and stamping to make more detailed prints and you will leave the workshop with plenty of ideas to carry on at home.
About the Instructor
I am a multimedia/mixed media artist, photographer and teacher, using recycled and found or foraged objects to create work wherever possible in a sustainable way. My work is grounded in the outdoors, both on my doorstep, my garden and allotment or out walking and exploring. I forage for art, craft and edibles. I grow fruit, vegetables and dye plants. I’m a plant nerd and like to make use of botanicals in as many ways possible: ecoprint, gelli print, heat print, cyanotype and anthotype, botanical inks, natural dyed fabrics and use them in textile pieces and collage. I paint and draw in many different media and styles, I enjoy everything too much to concentrate on just one thing!
